Cayce Osborne

Cayce Osborne brings a background in writing, editing, graphic and web design to WISL. A Madison native and 1998 graduate of the UW-Madison School of Journalism & Mass Communication, Cayce discovered an interest in graphic design while designing menus for her family's restaurant, leading her to pursue a second degree. Upon graduation from Madison Media Institute with an associate degree in Multimedia Arts, she joined the staff of Anew Magazine (later to become Brava) where she spent six years as a graphic designer and staff writer.

In October of 2009, Cayce joined the WISL as Outreach Specialist, after meeting Professor Shakhashiri during an interview for Brava and becoming interested in the initiative's mission. Her job includes creating and updating publicity and promotional materials, preparing funding proposals and other fundraising duties, planning events to promote science education, and assisting with a variety of other WISL projects. As an alumna of the UW who grew up enjoying all the university has to offer, she is proud and excited to be working for such an outstanding institution.

In her free time, Cayce enjoys reading, watching movies, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She lives in Madison with her husband Mike and sons Devon and Rhys. She is also a published fiction writer. Her debut novel will be published in July 2023 by Crooked Lane Books.
