Haley Olsen joined WISL in the Fall of 2017, after taking Chemistry 350: Communicating Science to the Public via Demonstrations with Prof. Shakhashiri. Her appreciation for public science engagement began at an early age, participating in and volunteering with after-school science programs. She came to UW after graduating from Plymouth High School in Plymouth, WI, and is studying Chemical Engineering. After graduation, she plans to work as a Research and Development Engineer. Haley's favorite part about working with WISL is watching the excited reactions of the audience while sharing her appreciation for science at public demonstrations.
In her spare time, Haley enjoys reading, running, and baking. She is a member of the UW-Madison Triathlon Team and competes in races throughout the year.
Haley won "Demonstrator Extraordinaire" in the 2018
