Once Upon a Christmas Cheery, In the Lab of Shakhashiri was a free annual program that played to packed houses wherever it was presented. This family event entertained young and old and educated them about the joys of science. The show is broadcast on PBS and local cable stations. The Christmas Lecture is presented in the tradition of the great British scientist Michael Faraday (1791-1867), who began presenting his annual Christmas lectures for children and their families at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in the 1840s.
